|summary=Irving's follow-up to the wonderful For The Record is even better than that charming story, as she tells the sweet, heartbreaking, but ultimately feel-good tale of a girl trying to bring her dad back from the war. A complete gem of a book.

Absolutely huge recommendation, a real must-read. (And as if the book wasn't superb enough, I think it may be my favourite cover of the year!
Regular readers of my reviews will already have seen me rave about Irving's debut, [[For the Record by Ellie Irving|For the Record]] - if you haven't read it yet you really should! Another wonderful author for this age range is Karen McCombie, whose heartwarming [[Life According to... Alice B. Lovely by Karen McCombie]] may just be the best novel so far in her prolific career. We also have a review of [[The Matilda Effect by Ellie Irving]].
