Yes - that's over eighty-one hours of listening for the purchase of one audiobook. All six major novels are read by comedienne Alison Larkin and they're presented in the order in which they were published.
I'm not going to comment on the quality of the novels: they're widely-known and loved. You'll love them or hate them and you'll already know which it is! What I would like to say is that Alison Larkin is a superb narrator and she has a great range of voices, both male and female which she uses to brilliant effect. She has the pacing and inflexions just right. It makes for excellent listening.
I listened to the novels over a period of several weeks - then I went back to the beginning and listened to them all again. Some - such as ''Pride and Prejudice'' - I'd watched on television recently but others, such as ''Northanger Abbey'' I was surprised to realise I hadn't revisited for more than half a century. I was pleased to find that my reaction to Catherine Morland was considerably better this time around. Perhaps it was better without my English teacher's input.
You will need to download several audiobooks: the average listening time for each book is about 13½ hours and some books are spread over more than one download.
