''Horrid Henry’s Krazy Ketchup'' is the 23rd book in the ever popular series and has been released to coincide with the Horrid Henry 20 year anniversary celebrations. The book contains four stories: Horrid Henry’s Ketchup, Horrid Henry’s Chicken, the Revenge of the Bogey Babysitter and Horrid Henry Tells it Like it is.

I have recently read the original [[Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon and Tony Ross|Horrid Henry]] book and was delighted to see that the series is still as fresh and original as ever. There is a tendency for long-running series to get dull and predictable as time goes on, but this line of books makes a refreshing change. Henry is still as horrid as ever, much to the delight of his young fan base.

Simon doesn’t make things easy for her eponymous protagonist and we discover that poor Henry isn’t quite as fearless as he likes to make out. It was a delight to see the return of the fearsome Bogey Babysitter, who terrifies my young son almost as much as she terrifies Henry. We also learn about Henry’s secret phobia, when he is asked to take care of the class chicken during the school holidays. Henry does a spot of creative editing in another story, where he interviews his parents and mixes up the answers to create the most embarrassing family video ever. My favourite story, however, was the ketchup story and the comical description of the ‘Veg-Chup’ that actually made me chuckle to myself whilst reading.

''Horrid Henry’s Krazy Ketchup'' is a very funny book indeed and a good way to encourage kids to get into reading.

Don't forget to read [[Horrid Henry by Francesca Simon and Tony Ross|the original]]!
