Children who love watching ''Timmy Time'' on CBeebies are going to love ''Timmy Says Sorry'' with all their favourite characters from the pre-school series. It was playtime in the nursery and Harriet gave Timmy a football from the toy box and he had great fun kicking it around with his little hooves. A great big kick sent the ball out through the open door and into the yard. Otus was playing in the sandpit and he'd made a beautiful sandcastle, but Timmy's football landed on the sandcastle and squashed it flat. Otus started to cry and even when Timmy said sorry that didn't make any difference.

It's a delightful little story which illustrates that there are times when words are not enough – you have to make a gesture and ''show'' that you really are sorry. It's gentle, never preachy and there's some gentle fun at the end when Osbourne thinks that it might be better if ''he'' kept hold of the ball.

This is a well-constructed board book which will stand up to the rough handling it's bound to suffer and there are rounded corners which ensure that no one is going to get hurt. No need to say 'sorry' for anything that happens with this book!

I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to The Bookbag.
