	R.D. Shanks is a Scottish writer and a keen reader of an eclectic range of fiction. She especially enjoys books with castles, detectives and/or dragons. She started writing her first novel, ‘A Reverie of Brothers’, when she was sixteen, after falling in love with the dreamlike landscape of Mervyn Peake’s Gormenghast Novels. She is currently writing a series of books for children. She lives in Ayrshire with her fiancé and their two mischievous cats.		R.D.
