Barry Fowler grew up in small-town South Africa and Australia in the 1970s. ''Autumn Camp'' is based loosely on his camping experiences during his High School years. He was a Scout and continued as an adult leader when he was a student. Qualifying as a psychologist, he spent several years as a military psychologist before starting his career as a clinical psychologist in the British NHS. Mostly in the North of England, he has worked in Forensic Psychology and as an Expert Witness, often in Child Protection cases. Now retired, he spends time in England, Germany and Spain. He is actively involved in military veteran organisations, research and writing.
