|summary=Avery describes this offering as a ''chant-aloud book'' and that about sums it up. Potty training can be a frustrating affair, but ''Who Needs Nappies? Not Me!'' adds some irresistible humour and a most excellent achievement chant which will help any frazzled parent turn it into something fun.
They don't matter; they're not a reason to rush back to nappy safety. They're just blips. That you can laugh at and once you've laughed, you'll know not to do them again.

So don't worry if you make a ''wee-wee puddle'' or you play with the toilet paper, or you wipe with your hands. It's not the end of the world. Just don't do it again and you too can shout ''Not me!'' and you'll be one step closer to saying goodbye to doing all that toilet business all by yourself, like everyone else does.

Avery is right to call this a chant-along book. Every child can go through the pratfalls of potty training and join in with the repetitive shout of ''Not me!'' at all the various scenarios and it will work to reduce shame and temper outbursts as a child goes through the process. It takes the sting out of what can be a trying time for parent and child alike.

Illustrator Seema Amjad has produced a loud and proud series of pictures which also signal lack of shame and stigma and, dare I say it, fun? Her children all have big bright eyes and mischievous faces even when things are not going smoothly with regard to potty issues. But the sense of pride when they've succeeded is palpable. I love these pictures. They're big and bold and look at family life with love and humour.
Another fab production from the Avery stable!
