I was very impressed with The Memory of Love and hope to read Forna's other books, a novel and a memoir also set in Sierra Leone, soon.
Another novel about civil war in Africa is [[Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie]], set during the Biafran War between Nigeria and Biafra in the 1960s. Abraham Verghese's brilliant novel [[Cutting for For Stone by Abraham Verghese|Cutting for Stone]] is set in a hospital in Ethiopia.
