George Jackson is thirty-three years old, absolutely gorgeous to look at - and single. She's not had sex for eight months and she's stuck in the karma trap: an awful lot of bad luck is being visited on her and she has a real talent for attracting drama. Her life's chaotic: she dealt with the leak from the shower by putting something down at the bottom of the stairs to absorb the water - then the shower fell through the roof whilst she was in it and left her, stark naked, staring at the pervy postman. She only has to take her mother's dog out for a walk for her to end up with dog poo spattered across her face - and a photo being taken by someone who shares it around the office.

Summary: If your sense of humour enjoys stories of vomit, poo and the ladette lifestyle, then you are going to love this book - it's hilarious. If it doesn't, then you might be wise to give it a miss, because when these girls go out to behave badly, there are no half measures.

You have to admit that she's lucky in her friends - until you realise that her friends get her into an awful lot of trouble. Debbie doesn't take no for an answer: so far as she's concerned there's no such thing as a quiet night at home, even if it takes violence to get you out to the festival. Lucy loves exercise DVDs: she'll watch them sitting on the couch with coke and snacks. Her exercise comes from the fact that she'll have sex with any available man. Shaz and George go on drunken shopping expeditions - and they have to keep the clothes they buy on these outings. Considering George works in fashion a lot of the clothes are a poor advertisement for her industry! Even George wonders what sort of man she would attract, given the sort of company she keeps. The saving grace is Carmen, a long-time friend who brings some stability and organisation into George's life.

At work, George is lusting after Karl Jones: he's gorgeous to look at although she's not yet worked out that he's a bit of a prat - but he will get his comeuppance. It's just a pity that George can't see the charms of good-looking, well-to-do and kindly Charles Cunningham but every time she meets him she's in a more dreadful situation (of her own making) than the last time. George's mother, Beryl, is always there for her but usually, it's because she has a death she wants to tell George about.

Author Lisette Boyd, who says that she's a party girl, has a lovely turn of phrase. Shaz showed the girls some pictures of women in rather peculiar sexual positions which she'd gotten from some guy at work. Who knew how that conversation had come about? You can spend quite a while wondering about that one! If your sense of humour enjoys stories of vomit, poo and the ladette lifestyle, then you are going to love this book - it's hilarious. If it doesn't, then you might be wise to give it a miss, because when these girls go out to behave badly, there are no half measures. Of anything.

It's a good story with a satisfying ending and I'd like to thank the publishers for sending a copy to the Bookbag.

Men can behave just as badly, you know!
