LH: I was always a HUGE [[:Category:Enid Blyton|Enid Blyton]] fan (particularly ''The Enchanted Wood'' and [[The Island of Surprises (New Adventures of the Wishing Chair) by Enid Blyton|The Wishing Chair'']]) and was fascinated by the crazy world of [[:Category:Dr Seuss|Dr Seuss]]. Also I was a HUGER-ER [[:Category:Roald Dahl|Roald Dahl]] fan (who isn't?!)
I love their vivid sense of imagination and the inventiveness of the stories. And of course, the wicked anarchic sense of humour of Dahl was just incredible.

LH: Very tricky question. I will pick 2 of my current favourite picture books - {{amazonurl|texttitle=Big Rabbits Bad Mood by Ramona Badescu and Delphine Durand|isbn=0811866661}} and{{amazonurl|texttitle=All Kinds of Families by Mary Ann Hoberman and Marc Boutavant|isbn=0316146331}} - and one of my all time favourites {{amazonurl|texttitle=The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake|isbn=0141501766}}. All distinct voices and clear, bold visions... executed perfectly.
