Some characters have stood the test of time and few would deny that accolade to Paddington, the bear from darkest Peru who now lives with the Browns at 32 Windsor Gardens, London. We've enjoyed him for over fifty years now and to celebrate the occasion eleven of the classic books have been collected in one, slipcase volume. All the stories are unabridged and accompanied by the gorgeous illustrations by Peggy Fortnum.

Paddington at Work (1966)
Paddington Goes to Town (1968)
Paddington on Top (1974)
Paddington Takes the Test (1979)
It's a complete collection of the original stories published by William Collins and Sons, now Harper Collins and even if you do have some of the books you might find that this is still a delightful collection and a potential heirloom. I would be slightly wary of buying it for a young child to read as the book is substantial - a hardback with nearly 450 glossy pages which weighs in at 1.85kg. They will, of course grow into it, but it's not going to work well for reading under the duvet with a torch!
