We're back with Big Bear and little bear again and this time, Big Bear is teaching little bear all about the animals from little bear's big ''Book About Animals'' as they are settling down for bed one night.  But Big Bear keeps mixing them up and once again little bear has to keep putting him straight:
 
''This is a fish.  It has very soft fur. If you give it a cuddle, you'll hear it go 'purr'…''
 
''Hang on a minute! A fish can't do that.  If it's purry and furry, it must be a... *open flap* CAT!''
 
Another in the series of animal mix up books, the [[The Big Jungle Mix Up by Gareth Edwards|Jungle version]] of which is currently enjoying cult status in our house, ''The Big Animal Mix-Up'' is a very welcome addition.  With the same vivacious, vibrant spice-coloured illustrations, and similarly wonderfully witty animal combinations as before, this is really the kind of book that you never tire of reading with your little ones because its impossible to keep track of what mix up has happened with which creature.

With a rather delightful finale (a pyjama wearing whale), ''The Big Animal Mix-Up'' is simply enchanting and without further ado, you simply must go and get yourself a copy, because if you find the sound of your little one gurgling with laughter as utterly irresistable as I do, I've yet to find a faster way to accomplish it than by reading these books.

If giggle-inducing creature books are your little one's idea of fun, then you should most definitely take a look at [[The Day The Gogglynipper Escaped by James McKnight and Mark Chambers]].
