We all know that at this time of year there are oh-so-many Christmas and Santa related stories to choose from. How do you pick which ones to buy or read? Well, the answer to that is if you’ve got small boys or girls who tend towards potty humour, then this is the book for you.

I never really realised just how many ways you could refer to farting, but this story takes it to all new levels, from botty burps to playing your rear end trumpet there will never be a shortage of phrases in your house if you read this book with your kids (or husbands, if we’re being honest about it). I love the humour to the whole book, it is cheeky and doesn’t hold back for the sake of being overly PC. Kids love toilet humour and this plays entirely into that market, as well as into the Christmas market. Both Santa and all of his reindeer are lovely characters here, laughing all the way around the world as Rudolph trumps along with them.

The illustrations match it wonderfully, full of humour and also a warmth which you come to expect from this time of year. I can easily imagine sitting up on Christmas eve and reading this with the family, and can only guess how many laughs will be had, maybe as many as Rudolph and all the other reindeer have as they deliver the presents amongst all the sprout-y gas.

This is a brilliantly entertaining book which I’m sure will be popular wherever it goes. If you’re not one for toilet humour, then this book probably isn’t for you because it doesn’t hold back, but it isn’t in bad taste, just a fun and windy adventure through the skies on Christmas eve. I’d recommend this book not only for families, but also for those who work with children as this will doubtless make you just that bit more popular for all the laughs it will bring.

If you're looking for a bit more of a classic Christmas book, why not try How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr Seuss?
