Mimi is a little mouse who lives with her mouse family. This book takes us through her day at home, waking up, getting dressed, eating breakfast etc. Each double page spread has a small description of what Mimi is doing and the challenge is to find Mimi (and her family too, if you wish) and see what she's getting up to!

Books that have an element of the treasure hunt to them, where you have to search the pages to find something, are always fun and this book is a great introduction to that concept for older pre-school children and those just starting out at school to look through either by themselves or with a grown up. Mimi is a sweet little mouse, and it's fun to see the double pages absolutely covered in mice getting up to all sorts of things! My five year old was mostly able to find Mimi by herself, although she did need help on some of the pages.

Even if you're not looking for Mimi there's plenty to see, and all of the illustrations are very colourful and bright, lively and fun. I particularly liked the bath time page, and also the picnic lunch page which includes 12 mice carrying the most enormous baguette! I also enjoy looking for all the mice wearing tiny little glasses whilst my daughter is busy finding Mimi!

The end pages of the book contain a snakes and ladders board, so even once you've finished reading there's more fun to be had playing the game together which my daughter loved, especially since I seemed to continuously land on snakes that took me back to the start! This is a lovely book, perfect for multiple reads and with the game as an added repeat attraction too.
