I wasn't always quite sure I liked Mr Ryan, but I found myself entirely caught up in his story and wondering what he and Atticus would do next. It's an interesting portrayal of a personal life journey, and there were several times when I wished myself up on top of one of those mountains, looking out at the world alongside of a loyal little dog.
The only thing I really didn't like about this book were the ridiculously small photos! It's crying out for large, colour pictures so you can see Atticus sitting at the top of a mountain, but instead there's only one tiny picture, in black and white, at the beginning of each chapter. I would frustrate myself trying to figure out what I could see in the photo and wish each time for more. I'm sure there are plenty of cynics who will dislike the style and personal nature of this story, but if you don't have a heart of stone then do give it a chance because it just might speak to you about slowing down in your own life, making some changes, taking the time to stop and look and breathe..."
