Sam is quite an interesting character - given an implant designed to protect against the alien invasion, it turns out he is the key to the defence of Earth. There are quite a few possibilities for him in potential future books and I can see a series about his fight against the Voidborn winning proving as popular as Walden's [[H.I.V.E.: Higher Institute of Villanous Education by Mark Walden|H.I.V.E.]].
If ''Earthfall'' appeals to you, you'll also enjoy [[Gone by Michael Grant]], a cross between Heroes and a Stephen King novel. You could also look at [[The Enemy by Charlie Higson]], in which young survivors battle zombies rather than aliens. You might enjoy [[Robot Overlords by Mark Stay]] but we had our reservations.
