The bear family hop in the car, on a visit to see Grandma and Grandpa. They see a fire engine on the route, stop off to fill up with petrol and get the car washed, then have a delicious meal with Grandma. What a lovely day!

Driving Down To Grandma's is an enjoyable picture book. The story is simple enough for the littlest book fans to enjoy. There are plenty of glugs, honks, brums and neenors to get them joining in with the tale. Ian Whybrow has constructed a lovely tale with a strong rhyme throughout. What child isn't going to love a page of elephants on a fire engine, or a gorilla with a bucket of soapy water?

Ed Eaves' illustrations are lovely. I particularly enjoyed the small animals - mice, frogs, hedgehogs - dotted around the pages. They give the book plenty of re-readability, by having lots to pore over. All the animals are cute and charming, with plenty of jolly expressions on their faces. Everything's bright and vibrant; children will love it.

There's loads to enjoy in Driving Down To Grandma's. Do check it out. Recommended.

My thanks to the publishers for sending it to Bookbag.
