But who would have thought that one day all his yelling might save the earth? I'd definitely recommend you pick up this book to find out how, it's a real treat for noisy kids everywhere - and lots of fun for grown -ups too!

Daniel O’Dowd is ever so loud, which shouldn’t come as a shock to any of you given that the book is called Daniel O’Dowd was Ever So Loud. Much to his teacher’s dismay, Daniel never listens to a word she says because he’s too busy being loud!
This book is such a lot of fun to read, because it’s difficult to read aloud without shouting and being just as loud as Daniel himself. Its rhyming structure works really well with the sense of fun and slight chaos of the book, and my son really loves it - often joining in and shouting himself. This does mean that it's not necessarily a relaxing book for bedtime!
Daniel and his classmates go to visit Professor McWhizzit who invents all sorts of crazy things, but when Daniel looks through his telescope made of cheese, he sees something whizzing towards the earth at a startling rate. Professor McWhizzit thinks Daniel’s deafening voice might be the only way to save the earth, but how? And will it work? You’ll just have to read and find out for yourselves.
Overall I think this is a really fun book, with a nice plot and great illustrations by Elina Ellis to match. It works brilliantly for sharing, as it engages with the reader in its energy and wit, and I can see this being read and enjoyed by a really wide range of people.
This is book is part of Julie Fulton's 'Ever So' series, and if you enjoyed it then be sure to try [[Tabitha Posy Was Ever So Nosy by Julie Fulton and Jona Jung|Tabitha Posy Was Ever So Nosy]] as well as [[Mrs MacCready Was Ever So Greedy by Julie Fulton and Jona Jung|Mrs MacCready Was Ever So Greedy]].
