I don't know an awful lot about YA science fiction. Indeed, my experience with it before now has been limited to [[I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore]], which I didn't rate terribly highly. ''Conquest'', however, promised something a little different, as it was co-written by the author of [[The Reapers by John Connolly|a book I did enjoy]], alongside his partner Jennifer Ridyard.
