Paddy Davitt is an award-winning chief football writer with more than 11 years experience covering professional football across the English Premier League and Championship.

Paddy has extensive knowledge of the game built up from working closely with managers and players and privileged access to the biggest names in the game. He has also covered professional football in the USA, Austria, France and Italy.

His childhood passion for writing was sparked by reading the fictional football stories of authors such as Brian Glanville and Michael Hardcastle.

Paddy grew up in the Midlands and is a lifelong Coventry City fan. He currently works in Norfolk, England, for the regional publishing group Archant, where he reports on the fortunes of Norwich City FC.

One Shot at Glory is the first in a series of novels featuring a young footballer's quest to follow his boyhood dream and make it big at his hometown club.

It shows the dark side to the beautiful game. How a dream can be shattered in an instant and a future of fame and fortune cast into doubt in a cut-throat world where only the very best raw talent will ever get a shot at stardom.

Paddy is donating all proceeds from his debut novel to the UK-based national foodbank charity, The Trussell Trust.
