I had a quintessentially English country upbringing, born and brought up on a farm in Kent alongside my three older sisters. It was an idyllic, bucolic childhood until I was packed off to boarding school in Ashford where I completed my education as an average student without fuss.

I only managed a year at Bristol University reading Maths, you are meant to pass the exams apparently, so escaped to London where I had a great time working my way along the theatres of Shaftesbury Avenue, visiting anything that was free and all sorts of unsuitable things. In these hedonistic days I decided to get married and moving to the fastest growing housing estate in Europe. It proved to be a rash decision but when it fell apart I was blessed with two fabulous and funny girls so it is impossible to have regrets.

As a single Mum, I worked extremely long hours, fighting my way up the promotion ladder for financial gain and to give my girls the best that I could.

My life changed when I met my beloved Bob, in church on Christmas Eve as it happens. Within the year I became a full time farmer’s wife which felt like coming home. To keep myself busy I had fun putting on charity events and set up a life skills course for children with special educational needs. Between us we decided to cross the Atlantic in a yacht which we very happily succeeded in with a lot of fun on the way. Once in the Caribbean we pottered around the islands which I documented in a blog that was well received by my faithful followers.

This success led me to write a novel and, encouraged by my sister and niece, I got right down to it creating my debut novel Fall Out in a year. What a fantastic experience it has been and I can’t wait to start the next one.
