It's very difficult to classify ''Painting Snails'': originally I thought that as itSomeone is recreating every traumatic event in Kim Stone's loosely based around a year on an allotment it would be a lifestyle bookpast, but you're not going to get advice on what to plant starting with the death of her twin when and where for the best resultsshe was six years old. In the middle is a brief twilight that is barely survivable. She heads out to investigate and discovers Life is a strangeknife-edge, secret world called the Midnight Hourstray too close to one side you die, which seems to be London during Victorian timesclose to the other, you die and yet the heat from the sun and the water from the ice are necessary for life.
