We've met [[Ant and Bee by Angela Banner|Ant and Bee]] before and I introduced them with much the same words. Then there were just three books, but now there are some more but still featuring our friends Ant and Bee. The story is very simple: there's a strange smell in the air and Kind Dog is determined to find out what it is and where it's coming from. No matter what he does he can't find out! It's a trip through the alphabet, introducing simple words in context and in such a way that the child is engaged with the story.
I do have a quibble with the books and that's that the paper is shiny (causing reflections) and on occasions a shadow shows through from the page below. Most children won't notice this - or worry about it if they do notice, but for children with dyslexia this can be a distraction which complicates reading. (If this is a problem, have a look at out [[:Category:Dyslexia Friendly|Dyslexia Friendly]] category for suggestions. You know your own child.
