There are many excellent poetry anthologies out there, but ''A to Z'' is a cut above them all. It's bristling with life, energy and excitement. It shows children exactly what poetry should be - it's fun, it's moving, it's evocative, it's playful. There are a range of styles and themes, but there's a real cohesion, and a sense of a rambling band of poets DOING poetry and sharing it, because they love it. The passion for language shines through in the selection, the words are bursting from the page, into the reader's brain and out of their mouth. And it's not just for kids either. You have to buy this book; you'll adore it. Highly recommended.

Huge thanks to the publishers for sending it to Bookbag.

If you've got the poetry bug, you'll also adore [[A Kick In The Head: An Everyday Guide To Poetic Forms by Paul B Janeczko and Chris Raschka]]. [[New and Collected Poems for Children by Carol Ann Duffy]] is wonderful too.
