Tessa Buckley spent much of her childhood writing and illustrating stories. After studying Interior Design at Chelsea College of Art, she spent the next few years working for architects and designers in London, before a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis forced her to give up her career.. At that time there were no drug treatments available for MS, so she started researching nutritional medicine as a possible means of controlling her symptoms Once she had stabilised her condition, she took up writing again, writing articles on health and nutrition and her other passion, family history. In 2007 her book The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book was published by the Sheldon Press. An updated edition of this book was published in February 2017.

At the same time, she started writing for children, after her ten year old daughter complained that she couldn’t find enough adventure stories to read. This led, in 2016, to the publication of her first novel, Eye Spy, the first in a series for 9-12 year olds about two teen detectives. Eye Spy was awarded a red ribbon in The Wishing Shelf Book awards in 2015. The second book in the series, Eye Spy II – Haunted, will be published in July 2017.
