I liked these two stories. They will certainly appeal to older but reluctant readers and also to younger children with strong stomachs and who aren't troubled by thoughts of bogeymen.
Younger children will enjoy [[Moonwailer by Peter Murray]]. You might also like [[Dust 'n' Bones by Chris Mould]], a great primer of ghost stories for older children and younger teens.
