It’s quite rare to find a book which is written so well across the age range to make it equally enjoyable for adult and children, but I’m almost sure that I enjoy reading this more than my son enjoys listening to it, which is saying something as he adores it. I would love to get a chance to read this to a whole group of four or five-year-olds because I imagine it would be so much fun with plenty of laughter. Hoot Owl is an instant hit for me, and I hope very much that he is for you, too!

For more from Julien, have a look at [[Ralf by Jean Jullien|Ralf]].
If humour is your bag, then a couple of other picture books which you might really enjoy are [[The Slightly Annoying Elephant by David Walliams and Tony Ross]] and [[This Book Just Ate My Dog by Richard Byrne]]. We also enjoyed [[Fiddlesticks! by Sean Taylor and Sally Anne Garland]] and [[The Snowbear by Sean Taylor and Claire Alexander]].
