The mother was Katie is coming out of a businesswoman, who clearly left northern Italy and settled in Romania break up with her (night-time and business) partnera bad boyfriend, and feelings of abandonment are still strongso jumps at the chance to come home to Edinburgh. And so begins this new story from Alexander McCall Smith, bringing us to an Edinburgh we flit from current (wellalready love, thanks to 44 Scotland Street and the Isabel Dalhousie novels, this came out but with some new characters who quickly begin to charm.
