Author Catherine Steadman s February 1991 and Essex is both a successful actress and writerbitingly cold, with this her second novelwhich made Bruce Hopkins' return all the more surprising. I think in a way her acting background shows in her writing as to my mind the He'fight scene' at d been exiled on the end was somewhat unrealistic – you know the kind where the hero Costa del Sol as a wanted drug smuggler for a decade. The return has been hurt so many times come about because he's had a letter from his ex-wife, saying that itshe's virtually impossible theyill and hasn'd still be alive let alone able t long to fight off an attackerlive. The story also unfolded at a steady pace throughout until the ending which felt overstuffed in a frenetic bid It's hard to wrap everything up in the last few chapters. It was almost as if the author wanted feel any sympathy when Hopkins is abducted, stripped to keep the suspense until the last possible moment (which I liked) but then was somewhat left with too much his underwear and sent to do a watery grave in the closing stagesboot of a stolen Ford Sierra.|isbn=1984890646 Is it a warning from a Spanish gang or a problem closer to home?
