This is a great book for energetic youngsters, giving them something to concentrate on in this book that is more than just a story. I felt like this would make an excellent title for preschoolers crossing over from being read to, to exploring books on their own as well. Without being able to read all the words, they will still be able to search for the objects listed at the bottom of each page.

It has good, bold illustrations which provide a good balance between entertainment and being busy enough to make each page a challenge in terms of finding what you’re looking for. There are many, many fun and amusing details within the pictures which give the sense that you are stepping into a whole world, one which I very much hope we’ll be able to come back to and explore again. In many ways, the way in which this book is styled reminds me quite a lot of Richard Scarry books which I loved studying in great detail when I was a child myself, and in that way it almost feels quite nostalgic.

It is a set up that I’m sure will be familiar to many a parent if they had Where’s Wally books when growing up and it's nice to have a version of this style of book for a younger audience. I have a good feeling that this book will keep children quiet, if only for a little while, at an age where loud is usually the default setting! A good, strong book which will give kids a good chance to start spreading their reading wings independently, and maybe give Mum and Dad a chance for a cup of tea too…

If you enjoyed this book and your kids are looking for similar worlds to explore, you would be well worth having a look at A Day At The Airport by Richard Scarry.
