SJ Griffin became a woman after successfully completing many years as a girl. She has managed to get a few more years under her belt since then, and they’ve been largely frittered away on trying to be a writer. A brief adventure writing for theatre resulted in Early to Rise (Soho Theatre, Winner of the Westminster Prize), Passed Between Us (Rubicon Performance) and Love Me Or Leave Me (shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award). Her radio play The Orchid Farmer was performed on RTE1. SJ didn’t enjoy this as much as she felt she ought to, so she ditched writing for performance for the more solitary pursuit of writing books. She lives in the present day London where she fends off the impending apocalypse by running, cycling, reading comics and books, and never, ever moving things with the power of her mind. Well, not in public anyway.

SJ keeps a blog about the thrills and spills of writing The Vanguard Trilogy. You can also follow her on Twitter where she's @squintarium or like on Facebook.
