A Marson.JPG

I was born in London just as the second world war was starting. I survived the blitz and was lucky enough to go to a grammar school. When I left, I had to serve two years of National Service in the Royal Air Force. During those two years, I gained a place at Bristol University. While I was there I met my wife, Joy and we have now been married for 54 years.

After graduation I studied accountancy, whilst working at J.Lyons and Co. When I qualified, I moved to a new job with a pharmaceutical company in Worthing in Sussex. I was then promoted to a new position in London and we moved to Woking in Surrey, where we still live. By now we had three boys, who all went to school in Guildford and eventually gained places at Cambridge University.

We are fortunate to have three granddaughters and a grandson, whom we see regularly. We also have a cocker spaniel named Daisy, who takes us on long walks along the North or South Downs.

When I retired, I worked with a number of local charities. I and other volunteers currently provide transport for people in the community. This still left me time to wonder about the nature of the universe and my place in it. I read lots of books on the subject and started making notes. These scribbled notes were eventually the basis of my book.
